| Our Mission:   We are an ecumenical organization sponsored and operated by an alliance of area churches combining the resources of our members to meet the emergency needs of people in our community. We depend upon support by area churches, individuals, social and civic groups, and foundations. Our mission is to glorify God and demonstrate God's love for those in crisis. The Co-Op is an intentionally Christian organization seeking to honor the Lordship of Jesus Christ in word and deed by following His example in sharing and caring for brothers and sisters in need. The Co-Op seeks to preserve clients’ dignity while encouraging self-responsibility and spiritual growth.
Our Ministry Director:
Linda Freund has been the Director of the Lawrenceville Co-Op since 2001. She began volunteering at the Co-Op in 1996.
After reading The Prayer of Jabez, she had confirmation that she was called to this position. The 1 Chronicles
4:10 prayer reads: “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be
with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” To help the needy certainly answered
the prayer to “enlarge my territory.” To attempt something so big that the glory
and honor would go to God alone – “that Your hand would be with me” – convinced her to step out in faith and
to be His instrument in directing the ministry.
