You may receive 3 hours of academic credit for an internship that entails 10-20
hours per week during a full-length semester (this will be a minimum total of
120 hours). To receive credit, you must be enrolled in one of the following courses
during the same semester that you perform the work:
CSCI 4910 (Computer Science majors)
CIS 4910 (Information Systems majors)
The internship faculty instructor will communicate with you during the semester
about any additional requirements, such as reporting your progress or writing a
reflection about your experience.
(Instructions are given below on how to get enrolled in the class.)
The CS/IS bulletin board (2nd floor, Newton Oakes)
Online listings of student internship opportunities (Google it!)
Your classmates and peers who have worked in the industry
Remember that it is ultimately your responsibility to arrange your internship.
How do I enroll for the internship course?
Download the Internship Learning Agreement form below and complete it
with your employer.
When you have both signed the form, submit it to the
instructor of record for the internship course.
(Check the
Class Schedule in Banner
for the instructor of record for the
semester you will be completing the internship.)
Be sure to fill in all parts of the form with complete information!
The instructor may ask you to revise the form if you have omitted items or
completed them incorrectly. Once the instructor has approved the form, (s)he will
let the department head know that you can be registered for the class.
